Importance of sun protection

Children are at school five days each week, 40 weeks each year, during the peak UV radiation times. This means it is essential for schools to not only have practices in place to protect students in their care but also to educate and role model the importance of sun protection.

Our school adopts a ‘No Hat, No Play’ policy to ensure students are protected from harmful UV radiation during play time. When the temperature is forecast for 36 degrees or above, modifications are made to our school day as per our Inclement Weather Process.
